About Us

Capt. Mark Noneman and Sharon Noneman

Capt. Mark Noneman started his sailing journey on his brother’s 16 foot Hobie beach catamaran on Mission Bay in San Diego, California in the 1990s.  He then continued learning on keel boats (earning ASA 101, 103, and 104 certifications) and cruising catamarans (earning the ASA 114 certification). He is a Royal Yachting Association Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper, holds an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and the Sailing License and Credentials (SLC™).  Capt. Mark also earned his United States Coast Guard 100 Ton Master certificate.

 

Mark is a certified NauticEd instructor for Qualified Crew, Skipper Small and Large Keelboat, Bareboat Charter Master, SLC, and Captain Offshore. He is also a certified American Sailing instructor for basic keelboat, coastal cruising, bareboat cruising, and cruising catamarans.

 

Mark studied engineering at college with a successful career in electronic systems, software, and consulting.

 

Sharon Noneman started her sailing career with Capt. Mark in San Diego. First on a Hobie cat on Mission Bay and then moving straight to keel boats and cruising catamarans (also earning ASA 101, 103, 104, and 114 certifications).

 

Sharon studied economics and business in college with a successful career in global benefits and compensation in many organizations and industries.

 

 

Capt. Mark and Sharon have enjoyed sailing all over the world including California, the eastern United States, Bahamas, Caribbean, Puget Sound, the Mediterranean, and Australia on both cruising monohulls and modern cruising catamarans. They are currently living the dream on their own Leopard 48 sailing catamaran, S/V Calypso. And they are excited to help others learn the joy of sailing and how to overcome obstacles to Learn – Sail – Live!
